Sakura is a hantsuki who constantly battles the intrusive, parasitic impulses of the Akuryo Echo (The Infestation) of the Hell of Razor Winds. She is a living bridge between the worlds, struggling to prevent the predatory, non-vocal presence within her from consuming her humanity and turning her into a monster. Her birth name is Konae Mizuki.

Biography

Born Konae Mizuki to two powerful kikon-jin, Sakura's early life was shattered by the conflict that led to her mother's death and her father's forced stasis (Karishi). She was raised in a secluded temple by her aunt, Hikaru, trained rigorously for the dangers of her heritage. Escalating threats forced their relocation to Los Angeles, where she now uses the identity Sayou Sakura and must adapt to an American high school while fighting a constant internal battle against the Akuryo Echo living in her head.
